Cookie and Local Storage Policy
This document was drafted in Romanian. This English version is a translation provided for convenience; in case of any discrepancy, the Romanian version prevails.

In short: the public webid.ro website does not set any cookies. No analytics cookies, no marketing pixels, no third-party tracking scripts. This is not a cautious policy wording - it is the verified technical state of the website. This page explains what we use instead (a few preferences stored locally in your browser and, if you start an order, your cart and your form), why we don't ask for your consent for them, and what happens if things ever change.
1. The concepts, in two sentences
Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser and that are sent back to the server on every visit - that's how a website "remembers" you between pages or between visits. Local storage (localStorage) is a close relative: also information saved in your browser, except that it isn't sent anywhere - it stays on your device, and only the page can read it, while you are on the website.
The law (the ePrivacy rules, transposed in Romania by Law 506/2004) treats them the same way: what matters is that something is stored on your device, not the mechanism. That is why this policy covers both - and also why we didn't title it just "cookies".
2. What webid.ro actually uses
Cookies on the public website: none
When any public page loads, the website does not set any cookie. There are no "necessary", "analytics" or "marketing" cookies to list here, because there are none at all.
Third-party scripts: none
The website does not load external analytics, advertising pixels, third-party fonts or other resources that would pass your visit on to other companies. The pages are served entirely by us.
Local storage: interface preferences and, if you start an order, your cart and your form
The website uses localStorage in two ways. For the interface, a few preferences:

On the demonstration websites - the ones we show as examples, where you can try out the look - the customizer is also active; it remembers your appearance choices, also in your browser: wm-pal (the color palette), wm-custom (a palette you adjusted), wm-font (the font), wm-emblem (the emblem), wm-density (page density), wm-anim (animations), wm-att (the tone of the texts), wm-visual (the visual style), wm-domain (the type of business chosen for the example), wm-booking (whether or not you show the booking calendar) and wm-addon-* (the state of the modules you are trying out). On webid.ro the customizer is not active; its choices only reach this website if you press "Buy" on a demo - you then see them in the table above.
None of these keys is transmitted to third parties, and none of them serves tracking. Only one key is personal data, within the meaning of the GDPR: the form identifier (webid.interview.webid-ro) - it does not itself contain your name or email, but it points to the form you filled in with us, so we treat it as personal data: we use it only to give you back your form, and on the server the form is deleted after the periods in the Privacy Notice (30 days if you don't pay the deposit) - after which the identifier in your browser no longer opens anything. The other keys do not identify you. All of them stay in your browser until you delete them (see §6).
3. The admin panel - a different regime, for clients only
If you are our client and you sign in to your website's admin panel, cookies are used there - the ones without which the panel can't work: the session cookie (it keeps you signed in), the panel's language preference, a technical key of the installation, a sign that you're signed in (webid_admin, 30 days), so the admin bar shows up when you visit your own website, and the panel's display mode, if you choose the simple version. All of them are strictly necessary for the panel to work, they track nothing and are not used for any other purpose. Visitors to the public websites never receive them.
4. Why we don't ask for your consent
The law requires consent for storing information on your device, with two exceptions: what is necessary to transmit the communication, and what is strictly necessary for the service you requested.
Everything we store falls into the second category: the interface preferences serve only to make the interface you are using work, while the cart, the code, the appearance choices and the form identifier serve only the order you started yourself - without them you couldn't put anything in the cart, you wouldn't get the discount from the link, and you would have to fill in the form from scratch on every visit. None of it serves any form of tracking or analysis. For this kind of storage the law does not require consent - and a banner asking you for it would be compliance theater, not protection.
Instead, we take on the obligation that matters: full transparency (the list above is complete) and the promise in §5.
5. If things change
Our services evolve - a future module may need storage that is no longer strictly necessary (for example, a statistics tool). Our commitment:
- Nothing new without updating this policy - the list in §2 stays complete.
- If any future storage requires consent, we will ask you for it before it happens, through a real choice (not a pre-checked box) - the mechanism already exists in the platform.
- The version and date at the bottom of the page always tell you when something has changed.
6. How you control what is stored
You can see and delete what the website has stored at any time, from your browser: in the privacy settings, under "site data" (or by clicking the padlock/icon next to the address → site data). Deleting the wm- preferences breaks nothing - at most, the website will show you once more an interface hint you had already seen. Deleting the webid- keys empties your cart and makes the browser forget where you left off with the form - you can pick it up again at any time from the link you received by email.
