How much does a website cost in Romania?
A website in Romania costs from around 1,000 lei (≈ €200) up to several tens of thousands, and the difference isn't random: "business website" means very different things. At one end are static pages, delivered as files, which you can't edit yourself. At the other, complex agency websites, with an admin panel and optimization. A typical business website that you can update yourself usually falls between 4,500 and 7,500 lei at an agency.
Below are the categories, with real market prices and their sources, so you know what you get for each.
The figures were checked in July 2026 and are given in lei; where a provider lists prices in euros, we converted them roughly at ~5 lei per euro.
The three price categories
Static pages, no admin panel (~1,000-2,250 lei / ~€200-450)
The cheapest end of the market. You get a website that looks good, but that you can't edit yourself - it's often delivered as design files or HTML, and any change to a text or photo means going back to whoever built it. Extra features (a blog, a gallery, multiple languages, even analytics) are usually charged separately, each one.
Examples from the market: one provider lists packages from around €250, delivered as design files and HTML; another starts at €200, with the blog, gallery, contact form and optimization charged separately.

A website with an admin panel, at an agency (~4,500-7,500 lei / ~€900-1,500 and up)
The category most businesses actually want: a website you edit yourself, with the technical structure for Google included, a design suited to the business, and support. Here prices realistically start at nearly 4,500 lei and go up with complexity.
Examples from the market: a "standard" package with an admin panel, custom design, on-page optimization and analytics is listed at around €899; market analyses put a business website with an admin panel in the €800-1,500 range, and a more complex one between €1,500 and €4,000.

Above this range
Websites with special features, large online stores or complex projects can go well beyond 10,000 lei (≈ €2,000). Here the price is set per project, not per package.
Why prices vary so much
The same name, "business website", covers products that aren't the same thing. The biggest price factor isn't how many pages it has, but whether you can manage it yourself and what's included:
- The admin panel - a website you edit yourself structurally costs more than one delivered as files. It's the difference between changing a price yourself and paying someone every time.
- What's included vs. what's charged separately - with cheap packages, the blog, the gallery, a version in another language or analytics are often add-ons with their own price. The starting price and the final price can be very different.
- The content - with most offers, you bring the texts. Having the content written, if you get someone to do it, is an extra cost.
- Technical optimization for Google - the structure, the speed, how it looks on phones. Sometimes included, sometimes charged separately.
That's why a fair comparison is made within the same category: a website with an admin panel is compared with another one with an admin panel, not with a static page for 1,000 lei (≈ €200).
Other figures we use (with sources)
To be consistent, here are the other market benchmarks we mention on the website, with their sources.
Booking platform commission (for guesthouses and accommodation)
A guesthouse that gets bookings through a platform like Booking pays a commission on every booking. The standard commission starts at 15% and goes up to 18-25% if you switch on the platform's visibility programs (Preferred Partner, Genius).

What it costs at WebID
To be transparent about ourselves too: a complete website, with an admin panel and the copy written for you, costs €649 at WebID (≈ 3,400 lei at the National Bank of Romania rate) + VAT, paid once - in the "with admin panel" category, but below an agency's price. The details are on the pricing page.
